Critics Corner

We will have our next Critics Corner meeting on Friday, January 26th, at 7:00 PM, at the home of Liz Orteig.

The following movies will be discussed and then rated:

(Showing in local theaters and in January on Apple TV+ and other pay channels) A spectacle-filled action epic that details the checkered rise and fall of the iconic French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, played by Oscar winner Joaquin Phoenix.

(Available on Amazon Prime and other pay channels) Desiree Clary (Jean Simmons) has met the love of her life, and his name is Napoleon Bonaparte (Marlon Brando). But their love is a difficult one, as Napoleon's rise through the military ranks takes him away from her.

If you enjoy going to the movies and love an opportunity to discuss the movie with other movie enthusiasts, then you should consider joining Critics’ Corner. We meet at a member’s house. After socializing over appetizers and some drinks, we then discuss and rate the two movies, which we will have already seen on our own. Each attendee brings either an appetizer or dessert and contributes $5 when they arrive to cover the cost of the drinks. Spouses/Significant others welcome!
