America at a Crossroads: Politics, Media, and Leadership in 2026

Content include:

• How the American political landscape is evolving as we move into 2026
• The changing role of media in shaping public trust & democratic norms
• Leadership lessons drawn from Congress, the presidency, and history
• The implications of these trends for America’s future direction
• This discussion will be followed by a live moderated Q&A.

Encore–Columbia Connection - This event grew out of a local New Canaan connection. Shean-Mei Sheu’s husband, Alan Sheiner, a Columbia alumnus, recently ran into Joe Scarborough at Starbucks in New Canaan.  During their conversation, Alan asked whether Joe might be willing to speak to the Columbia University Alumni Association of Fairfield County — and Joe very graciously agreed. The Encore Club is delighted to share this special evening with its members.

Joe Scarborough Brief Bio -  Former Congressman Joe Scarborough (R-Fla.) is co-host of MS NOW’s "Morning Joe" alongside Mika Brzezinski. "Morning Joe" starts each weekday conducting interviews with top newsmakers and discussing the day's headlines.

In addition to his television career, Joe is a two-time New York Times best-selling author. Joe served as a member of Congress from 1994-2001. While in office, he was a member of the Judiciary, Armed Services, Oversight, and National Security committees
