Pardee Rose Gardens & Bear's Smokehouse BBQ

Join us for a delightful outing to the beautiful Pardee Rose Gardens in New Haven on June 4th (Thursday), 2026.

Pardee Rose Garden established in 1922 as a gift from William S. Pardee, this stunning 2-acre garden is known for its extensive collection of more than 50 varieties of roses. Maintained by the Public Works Department, the gardens also feature annuals, perennials, herbs, a tiered arbor, greenhouses, and a memorial plaque honoring the garden’s history.

• Carpool: We will meet at Waveny Park parking lot (by the Waveny House) at 10:00 AM, and depart no later than 10:30 AM. We will travel to the gardens located at 180 Park Rd., Hamden, CT.  Please bring $5 to your carpool driver for gas. 
• After enjoying the rose gardens, we will visit the greenhouse plant sale for those interested in purchasing flowers, herbs, and plants, which take place until 1:pm)
• Lunch: will follow at: Bear's Smokehouse BBQ, 470 James Street, New Haven, CT
